About the author

Some of the best Nova Scotia stories are hiding in plain sight: in a mill you drive past every day, a lighthouse at the end of a back road, a name on an old gravestone.

I'm Lorraine Lalonde, and I go looking for them. I live in Nova Scotia, and I visit the places in my stories myself, boots on and phone in hand.

Every story starts on HMDS Nova Scotia Stories. Then the comments roll in: a grandfather who kept the light, a mother who worked at the mill, a dad who helped build the causeway. Those memories shape every book I make.
